From her home port of Sag Harbor, “America” is based in some of the finest cruising waters on earth. For a populated area near a major city, it is rare indeed to be able to cruise past the pristine landscapes of the Mashomack and Shelter Island, Barcelona, Cedar Point and Gardiners Island. Block Island and Fishers Island are only a couple of hours away, as is the spectacular Connecticut shoreline. Closer to home, a trip to Greenport, a circumnavigation of Shelter Island or a run into the Peconic Bays provide an ideal complement to a brunch event or sunset cruise.
“America” is able to offer catered cocktail, luncheon or dinner parties arranged through the American Hotel or other approved caterer, at sea, at anchor, or in certain circumstances, dockside. Multi-day charters requiring chef and or on-board steward services can be arranged in advance.
One of our most exciting partnerships is with renowned salt-water fly fisherman, Matt Miller. Using “America” as a “Mother Ship” a group of enthusiasts or a family can charter “America” for a short or extended time and enjoy the unique opportunity of angling some of the world’s best and curiously unknown fishing grounds. Lear the art of fly-fishing while on your floating hotel! Matt will both teach a sought after skill set and be your (fast) water taxi to the east end shopping and dining destinations.
Wedding cruises will provide the memory of a lifetime. Consider hosting the rehearsal dinner at The American Hotel and, next day, performing the wedding ceremony on “America” in Shelter Island Sound with just immediate family abroad for champagne and caviar. Returning to the Sag Harbor dock, the Party can proceed until the Bride and Groom steam off into the sunset destination of their choice!
